F-F | Female, covering the Flat. Same as the other flat player. Start inside, cover people to sideline and 10 yards upfield. |
M | Middle coverage. Watch out for crosses, bump people going deep to slow them down and help deep defenders. Tip: Watch quarterback eyes, where they look, he throws. |
D | Start 7 yards deep, this will make it more difficult for quarterback to make quick pass. But coverage is DEEP. Do not let anyone behind you! Better to give up a short pass than a bomb. Can always come back to the ball. Just cover the deepest man on your side of the field! |
Flat | Start 3 yards deep. Turn your body to stop anyone from going INSIDE of you. Cover anyone who heads to sideline up to 10 yards deep. Then let them go. Purpose: By stopping people heading to middle of field you make the quarterback throw outside, a harder throw and easier to intercept. |
F-R | Rusher, a Female player Start 3 yards deep, play middle of field for 5 seconds, then RUSH the quarterback. Tip: Always rush to force him to your right (his left). This is because any right handed thrower will want to move right as it’s easier to throw. So push him to your LEFT! |
